Good things take their time...So it was a longer process to find the right mechanic for Angelique, to discuss  what we want to have done with her and finally to wait for the day we got her back.
Meantime we visited places in the area, including jacarandas and Freedom Park in Pretoria, jaguar babies at the lion park, Brenda and her always very delightful bunch of predators and their a mulberry tree which resulted in red tongues.
We joined several country markets where we presented our ideas and sold Lynette’s lion inspiration cards, we supported Lions Clubs International  with the Pick ´n Pay food collection, watched the sun halo above Joburg and had a braai with Lynette’s mum.
Thinking back to my work in Germany I´d never had thought how joyful it is (for a change) to paint a kitchen table or to put up a 20.000 litre water tank (with the help of Angelique’s winch).
When I had to go alone to Maputo in order to sort out some administrative stuff, I really missed Lynette’s company. Besides it was very interesting to see the communist influence all over the city. Street names like “Av. Mao Tse Tung” or “Av. Karl Marx” have long disappeared in Germany.
I´m also still busy assisting Lynette in improving her school-German using the highly educational method ;-))) of sticking yellow post-its with the German words all over our cottage...
(My method of increasing the vocabulary is reading important books from famous authors like Sidney Sheldon and Jackie Collins and certainly watching all the James Bond movies on ETv.)
With these post its I painted myself in a corner, because now I have to explain why it is “DER Blumenkohl” but “DIE Mohrrübe”. Not as easy as it seems.
Generally we are in the embryonic state of Angelique´s promotion tour which seem to be starting literally faster than Lynette and I expected. The adjustments our magnificent mechanic Harry did on Angelique improved her top speed from 95 to 105 km/h and that combined with a decrease in petrol consumption.
